Guy Doesn’t Want To Replace His Girlfriend’s Blanket After His Dog Chews Through It

Being frugal isn’t a bad thing.

In this economy, we all need to save as much as we can so we can rest in our later years. However, that doesn’t mean everyone wants to do this as some people are okay with living in the moment and not worrying about the future. Both of these are valid strategies and I don’t have an opinion on either of those. But I do think no one should be shamed for being frugal unless they aren’t spending a penny on themselves and it is way too extreme.

This doesn’t mean that everyone will respect your decision as some people don’t appreciate people who are way too frugal. I understand where both sides are coming from and you have to communicate with your partner to see if you guys are on the same wavelength. After all, you don’t want to spend a considerable amount of time in a relationship and then realize both of you couldn’t agree on some basic things. That is what today’s story is all about.

This story is all about what being frugal means for this guy and why he is doing it in the first place.

He provides us with some information and that he has to provide for everything due to his culture.

They also have a little dog who doesn’t seem to be trained by the sound of it.

So the dog obviously ‘ruined’ the blanket and his girlfriend wants him to pay for it.

He refused and now this has become a contention point within their relationship.

In my personal opinion, I would say that both of these people are in the right in their own way. It is just a difference of opinion. I mean, at the end of the day, it is just a little hole and it can be fixed quite easily so throwing away a whole blanket is just wasteful. On the other hand, it is his responsibility since it is his dog. The best thing to do in this situation is to talk about the too-frugal situation so it doesn’t become an argument point in later life.

People were generally on the girlfriend’s side.

They pointed out that it was his dog.

So it is his responsibility to fix things that his dog ruins.

There were also some people who noticed that he clearly doesn’t like that he has all the financial burden.

But if that is the case, he should ask his girlfriend to pay for half of the utilities.

Being frugal and this are two completely different things.

It really is as simple as that.

However, there were also some other people who thought she was overreacting.

This person didn’t have to give this any thought at all.

Communication is key in every relationship.

I am actually quite confused about that as well.

I mean, I would never throw away a perfectly fine blanket just because of a hole or two.

This story also caused a lot of stir in the comments.

I just think buying her a new blanket might be the easiest way to move on.

However, they clearly need to have a serious talk with each other.

He also needs to train his dog so this doesn’t happen again.

This is what dog owners usually do.

The dog was his before she ever moved in.

It is bigger than just the blanket.

Maybe she needs to consider that as well.
