I assure you, the title is a bit misleading and paints OP in a bad light.

Right from the start, it is clear that his daughter has behavioural issues.

She wanted to have a birthday party, and OP was happy enough to allow it on the condition that she behaved.

However, he was soon contacted by the school, as she had been caught smuggling alcohol on the premises.

OP was livid and not only grounded her but also cancelled the birthday party.

However, he is now worried that he might have gone too far.

Even his parents aren’t on his side.

I’m not sure why the father believes he may be in the wrong. It’s not as if the punishment was excessive or that he harmed her in any way. Furthermore, he had previously warned her that the only way she would get a party was if she behaved, which she did not do. So it doesn’t take a scientist to see that she will have to face the consequences of her actions.

I believe that the original poster’s (OP) daughter requires therapy because this goes beyond a simple rebellious phase. She needs professional assistance to address her behaviour and underlying issues. While I understand that peer pressure exists, this instance implies that the people she associates with have a negative impact on her behaviour.
