How do people do this without feeling embarrassed?

Choosing beggars are the absolute worst. If people are humble and actually needy, others will definitely come to their aid or do them a favour or two. However, choosing beggars won’t get anything out of anyone. An actual beggar does not have the privilege of choosing. So if someone is being picky when they need something, they don’t really need it. This is probably the outcome of spoiling your children at a young age. You make them feel like the world owes them something when it doesn’t. You fulfil their every wish so they don’t hesitate in asking for anything because they know they will get it right away.
