Mother’s Day is a special day to honor and appreciate all the mothers out there who have been nurturing and caring for their children. However, it seems that some pet owners are getting a little carried away with the idea of being a “mom”. A kid’s mom and a dog’s mom can never be the same. A dog owner shared on Reddit that she has been friends with Leila and some of the other friends since school. They used to have a mother’s day lunch every year where child-free moms were not allowed. OP and Leila used to be a part of the celebration but they had nothing to do in those celebrations so they agreed to be left out of these celebrations.
One day, Leila came over to OP’s place and vented about being left out of the celebration and OP tried to explain that she is not a real mom and that being a dog mom is different than having a kid. Leila threw a tantrum after hearing this and left. Scroll down to read the complete story.
Being a parent involves a tremendous amount of responsibility and sacrifice. Raising a child requires a significant investment of time, energy, and resources. From pregnancy and childbirth to sleepless nights and endless diaper changes, the physical and emotional toll of parenting is significant. It’s a 24/7 job that lasts for many years, and the rewards are immeasurable.
On the other hand, being a pet owner involves caring for a companion animal who is entirely dependent on you for its basic needs. While there is certainly love and joy involved, the level of responsibility and sacrifice is not the same as raising a child.
Being a pet mom is surely different than being a real mother. We should celebrate both pet ownership and parenthood in their unique and valuable ways. What do you think? Share your opinion with us in the comment section down below.
