Reddit user u/throwaway081723‘s had many husbands throughout the course of her life. When she passed away, in her will she had a certain amount for all of them. For one ex-husband, Jason’s daughter Jenna, OP left her bed, a one-bath apartment, and a college fund for Jenna to complete her education. For OP, though, who was her biological daughter OP left almost all of her money amounting to more than one million dollars.
Jenna did not like that their mother left so much for OP and nothing, according to her, for her. At the mom’s funeral, Jenna’s father approached OP and requested that she split her inheritance in half with Jenna. OP refused to split which made Jenna’s father called a rude and selfish decision. He also accused OP of ruining her mother’s funeral.
The matter made OP share the story on the subreddit “Am I The A$$hole?” to know if not splitting her inheritance with her half-sister made her wrong or not.

Stacy left over a million dollars for her biological daughter. And for Jenna, who came from Jason with whom she had a really messy divorce, OP left her enough money to complete her education and also a one-bath apartment so she could sustain herself. I don’t see anything wrong here. I mean, it is Stacy’s will and OP shouldn’t be held accountable for it. I say this because everyone is going to blame OP for getting the most money. OP had no say in this. It was Stacy’s decision entirely and it must be respected.

Jenna’s father made a request to OP and then proceeded to berate her. How is he expecting her to say “okay” after this?

Leaving this, I only have one question. Why did she leave OP over a million dollars but declined her full-ride Ivy League scholarship?
