Christmas is a beautiful event and we wait for it all year long. Some of us get excited because we will be receiving amazing gifts while others get excited because they will be giving away gifts and making others happy. That is the beauty of this festival.
Today’s story is about Reddit user u/pamplonamh who was excited to buy gifts for their family members to give on Christmas even if it made their budget for the month tighter. However, OP’s cousin, who recently got a dog, approached them to help buy food and other care products for her pet. OP, out of their heart said they would give their cousin $20 but she demanded $200. She even went on to say that OP shouldn’t prioritize material things, referring to the Christmas gifts, over a living being, referring to the dog.
This made OP question if they really should get Christmas gifts for their family or help the cousin with her dog. Scroll down below to read the story!

NTA. Not in any way does this make OP wrong or anything. The gifts were not going to amount anywhere near $200 as OP shared. And why would anyone adopt a dog in the first place when they can’t afford it? If you think about it, that is so unfair to that dog. Poor guy is not getting the life he deserves. I think OP should suggest their cousin to give the dog away before it is too late because this is no way to be an owner. As a dog owner, you have to own up to the responsibilities that come with it.
