College Student Submits Only Title For His Project And Takes Advantage Of Grading Policy

He was merely according to the grading guidelines, after all! There is a purpose for its presence. This college student had been doing well on all the prior project-related assignments and was aware that the lowest grade would be dropped because it was specified in the syllabus. He had to make a difficult choice and submit a mediocre assignment (by mediocre, we literally mean just the title page and a brief summary of the project) in order to prioritize the more challenging assessments due to other upcoming finals.

1. A class is graded on different projects weighing 60% of the total course and the end term final weighs 40%

2. OP did 5 projects and couldn’t score very well in the final project, he asked the professor to clarify the policy he had stated that something needs to be sent so OP send a blank file with title only

3. The professor tells the student he has submitted nothing and won’t get any marks, the student argues about getting 5 points

4. OP goes to the department chair and highlights the policy previously stated and the chair agrees to it

5. OP was also worried about the final but since it was MCQs-based, the professor won’t do anything. The malicious compliance was successfully done for doing the project subpar

6. OP has just stated a few reasons why he had done this

Now that you have read the story. it’s time for you to see what Redditors had to say on this. It is obvious that the professor was backing off from his own stated policy which is an unprofessional practice. Read till the end to see what are other people’s opinions on this.
