And they know it. If you have ever seen a cat walk, you can tell just by the look on their face that they know we are beneath them. And we might call ourselves pet owners but cats are the ones who own us and they are only using us as butlers because, sadly, they do not possess opposable thumbs. This may sound hilarious but the fact is that cats used to be worshipped in the old days and they have not forgotten even if humanity has moved on from that.
That is not to say that humans aren’t still obsessed with cats. They look adorable and they use their looks so we will take care of their every need and be at their beck and call whenever they want. And we listen to them because we know one day they will conquer this world and some of us want to remain by their side rather than being tossed aside. Cats used to be worshipped by Egyptians and there is a lot of proof of that when you take a look at their deities. As most of the old Egyptian deities are represented by a feline creature. Not only that, but if a household cat passed away, the members of the family would shave their eyebrows to mourn their beloved companion. Cats were also believed to be a form of protection against harm so when an army marched on the gates of the city of Pelusium with shield and armor embroidered with cat images, the enemy was too afraid to attack.
So yes, if anyone says that cats should not be feared, they only have to look at our history to realize the truth.
