Naming our children is a major activity as part of the whole pregnancy process. There is a lot of thought that goes into the decision after making a lot of considerations. The name that then gets decided is what you would use to call your child forever. It is a really cute exercise. A rule of thumb here is that parents prefer to pick names that no one else in the family and friend circle has.
In today’s story, we have got for you guys a drama that revolves around picking baby names. Reddit user u/Throwaway-babynam3 shared that because she and her stepmother didn’t have much of an age gap, the two got pregnant at the same time. No problem with that. The problem was that both the stepdaughter and the stepmother had decided to name their daughters “Elizabeth”. OP wanted to do so after her grandmother’s name and her stepmother wanted to do so after her best friend’s name who had passed away.
OP requested her stepmom and dad to pick another name but they refused to move. OP’s dad called her an AH for making such a request. The matter got taken to the courts of the subreddit “Am I The A$$hole?” by OP to know if not wanting her parents to name their child “Elizabeth” was the right thing to do or not.

I am sorry, woman, but who told you only you are entitled to the name Elizabeth? I know the story is yet to finish but I am declaring OP a major AH for this. She did not tell her parents she was going to name her child Elizabeth so it isn’t like they stole the idea from her or anything. OP should either get the name Elizabeth patented or shut the fu*k up and let her stepmom name her child whatever she wants.
Let’s see what happens next. Scroll down below to continue reading!
