Is work more important than your family?

I know a lot of people don’t really have a choice since they need the money to feed their families. However, I would say that getting to spend time with your family will always be more important than any kind of work. But in this day and age, it is now expected of us to work day and night and even if we try to be happy in our place in life, we are called out for being lazy or not having enough vision.

We are told to sacrifice everything just in the hopes that we could get that next promotion. But the world does not work like that. just because you work hard does not mean you will succeed. Sometimes it is all about the connections you have and that is the sad reality of life. That is why it is always satisfying to see people standing up for themselves when they have had enough. So when this higher-up decided to force his employee to work on Thanksgiving, he had another thing coming.

This is the conversation that led this employee to quit and I say that it was well-deserved.

What did the Boss think would happen? He did give his employee an ultimatum so he got what he deserved. And I would say that it is better to have everything in writing in case the boss tries to lie in the future. And if you are going to call, then it is best to record the call after getting permission ofcourse. If he had only been kind and asked for the employee to come, this might have gone better. But good managers always have a backup plan in case something goes wrong.

I am just glad that the employee was tired of all the bull and decided to put the boss in his place.

People in the comments had a lot of advice to give.

And most of them wanted the employee to have everything in writing for future use.

Hindsight is 20/20 on this one.

Imagine what it would be like to have an upper hand on your higher-ups.

To be honest, I do prefer to talk on call rather than text.

But having these sorts of things in writing is a must.

Some bosses are just horrible and don’t know how to do their job.

What is more important than work? Cuddling with your doggo!

If I had a floofy dog such as this one, I would want to cuddle with him day and night. Can you imagine just using his fur as a pillow?
