This Man Found An Abandoned Bird Egg And Hatched It Into A Budgie

Not all heroes wear capes.

I’m sure after reading this story, some of your faith in humanity will be restored. We have seen countless people rescuing puppies and kittens from dangerous situations, but how many times have you seen someone save a creature that isn’t even born yet? Sounds weird, right? By that, I meant someone saving an egg. Now, just a random abandoned egg wouldn’t mean much to a lot of people, but it contains potential life. Potential life can mean a lot to some people and saving it can be a huge responsibility that not everyone is ready to take up. But there are still good humans left in the world that value life, no matter in which form it is.

A YouTube channel named A Chick Called Albert posted a video of an amazing rescue of an abandoned parakeet egg. The man saw the abandoned egg in a pet shop without a mother to take care of it, so he took the egg’s life in his hands and decided to take care of it himself. The man was visiting a pet shop when he noticed an isolated and abandoned parakeet egg in one of the enclosures.

“I was in a pet shop when I noticed something odd,” the video’s caption read.

“There was a little egg on the floor of the budgie’s cage. I only saw a male budgie. The owner told me she had just sold the female. Luckily, she was happy to give the egg to me.”

Since the female bird had been sold, only the male bird was left alone in the cage.

So the man took the egg with the permission of the owner and decided to take care of it himself.

He secured the egg in a matchbox and took it home.

“Would I be able to bring it to life?” he questioned himself.

So as soon as he got home, he put the egg in an incubator, hoping for the best.

And shortly after, in a few days, he saw results!

He could see a heart beating inside of the egg!

“From that moment on, he grew fast,” read the video’s text. He rotated the egg thrice a day so the developing bird wouldn’t stick to the shell. Now that’s dedication!

Finally, on the 19th day, the egg started hatching!

And out came a tiny, baby bird.

“So far, so good. But this was just the start,” the man said.

As you can see, the bird was ridiculously small and very fragile. He needed immediate and extreme care. “He needed food and since a parrot is new to me, I had studied everything about how to feed him,” the guy said. “It could be done, but it wouldn’t be easy…” And of course, it isn’t easy feeding a creature this small, I would be scared I would actually crush it in my hands trying to hold it!

The bird had to be gently fed eight times a day.

But he was growing pretty fast, this little guy was tough!

And with every passing day, he started to look more and more like an adult parakeet.

The bird was healthy and eating fine, but he couldn’t fly yet.

However, the guy kept wondering about the bird’s dad that was left alone in the pet shop.

“So I called the pet shop. He was still there,” he narrates. “I told them I would come for him, as soon as his son could fly.”

And soon enough, the time came where the little budgie was able to fly.

So the man went back to the pet shop for the bird’s dad.

And they were finally united!

This heartwarming and beautiful story warmed the hearts of millions of people on the Internet.
