Karma leaves nobody out.

If you haven’t been a good person lately, prepare yourself for one of two things. Either apologise to the people you did wrong or brace yourself for the wrath of Karma. Karma makes no exceptions. So just wait and you will reap what you sow. What goes around, comes around.

Reddit user u/KindredCocaCola recently shared her story with her Aunt Jay, who asked for her niece’s services and then refused to pay her. She said the “exposure” she is providing her should be enough. Why do people always take advantage of artists like this? It doesn’t matter if you’re family. Artists have to pay bills too.

When she tried to take legal action against her Aunt Jay, a lot of things unfolded. You’ll be shocked to hear the full story. Read it down below:

This is how her story started.

She agreed in the start to pay her, but then went against her words and told her niece that the exposure and experience should be enough.

So she drafted a legal letter and an invoice to send her aunt.

But Aunt Jay took the matter to her mother instead of handling it herself.

Her mother warned her from working with her Aunt, but it was too late by then.

Instead of asking for discounts and free stuff, families should be the first to buy your products and support your company/business. Artists also have mouths to feed and bills to pay. You can not survive with just “exposure.” If you have any artists in your life, support their work. Buy things from them instead of asking things for free. This is their career and they have to make a living out of it.

Her mother decided to handle it professionally.

And that is when Aunt Jay’s huge scam was caught.

She also bought a car and claimed the “company” was paying for it.

She was cleaning out credit cards and was committing identity theft, with her own husband!

I don’t think gloating would be such a sin in this case.
